Adobe’s Ready, But It Is Still Up To Apple Whether Flash Comes To The iPhone

imageAdobe (NSDQ: ADBE) confirmed today at a conference that it was indeed working on a Flash player for the iPhone and that it will submit it soon to Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) for inclusion into the App Store, Flash Magazine reported. Since Apple will be the one that makes the final call on whether it’s approved, who knows if it will ever make it on to the phone? Of course, many people have been waiting for the moment since often times it means videos and other content won’t play in the browser. The possibility surfaced at the “Flash On The Beach” conference, where Adobe Systems’ Paul Betlem, a senior director of engineering, was quoted as saying that his team is working on Flash on the iPhone, “but [the iPhone is] a closed platform.” So, if Apple’s game, Adobe will have the player available “in a very short time.”
