A Quarter Of Marketers Use Mobile, Text And Banner Most Popular: Survey

Market research firm Advertiser Perceptions has released the results of its Wave Eight survey of marketers, showing that 26 percent said they were currently using mobile, 20 percent said they planned to use it in the next six months and 54 percent said they are not currently using mobile, reports Ad Age. The most popular form of mobile advertising was text, with 70 percent of respondents saying they currently use text ads and 69 percent saying they planned to in the next six months. Banner ads were the next most popular. Only 36 percent of respondents said they currently use mobile search, but 45 percent said they plan to use it in the next six months. Mobile video saw use decline, but interest pick up: “Podcasts and video saw the biggest decline from April and May of 2007 to October and November of 2007, with the percentage of marketers who use podcasts dropping from 33 percent to 24 percent and the percentage of marketers who use video dropping from 31 percent to 29 percent…the percentage of marketers who plan to use video within the next six months has increased from 39 percent to 42 percent.”
