Mobile operator and media company 3 in the UK has tied up with Groove Mobile (which powers the Sprint Music Store, the first OTA FTD launched in the U.S.) to boost the scope of 3’s music download service. According to this press release, the service will allow subscribers to download music simultaneously from their mobile phone to their PC and vice versa. In addition to providing full-track music downloads direct to mobile handsets, the new music service will include access to multiple charts, downloading of high quality album art, shop and play, browsing and previews, and exclusive content.

Moreover, the music service will allow customers who purchase music over the air to get their track delivered to their handset, and get a copy of their track online. Users can then play it on their laptop or PC, transfer it onto an MP3 player, or burn it onto a CD. They can also purchase the track on their PC (via three.co.uk) and then download it, free of charge, to their mobile. Also, if users lose or delete a track, they will be able to re-download the track up to 3 times, at no extra cost.
